Want to know the different ways of communicating emotion? The ones I’m practicing currently?
- Internal physical sensations (“his head throbbed”)
- External physical sensations (“Suddenly the warm wind felt too hot”)
- Physical actions (“gripped tighter with whitened knuckles”)
- Stated emotion (“impatient, he shuffled his feet”)
- Emotion tied to a character or world (every time she’s stressed, she has knuckle in her mouth)
There’s more, but I’m only working on the above.
