One of the ideas I had for the first competition I entered concerned nanites. My second idea for a medicine-related short story also involved nanites in a very different setting.
Here’s an excerpt from the draft of the second short story I’ve prepared:
The ferry swooped out past the tall elongated towers east of the hospital, swirling lower, avoiding the spiraling walkways and delicate connecting bridges. As usual, Brad ignored Central’s repeated demands he switch back to auto.
“In old town?” Treton called from the back.
“No,” Brad yelled over the klaxons, pointing at the nav image. Treton leaned forward and squinted at the barely visible red dot. Brad reached over with one hand and thumped the nav unit.
