Sometimes I’m in a new group of some sort when some variant of this icebreaker question is asked: “What is something most people don’t know about you?”

To break the ice a little with you, kind reader, here are a few things about me perhaps a bit unusual.  Feel free to share your own in the comments.

1. I studied martial arts off and on in my late teens and early twenties, making it halfway to a black belt.
2. As a teenager, I did a little windsurfing (a.k.a. sailboarding) in South Texas
3. My ears are not pierced.
4. I helped write software that’s now on-board an unmanned spacecraft orbiting Mars.
5. I have a secret desire to go llama-packing into the back country of Colorado.  (Ooops, not so secret now!)
