I usually catch at least two good stories over a week’s time. With a virus that knocked me out for most of last week, I had plenty of time (but limited mental stamina) to read or watch a show.
Some favorites:
- The Alloy of Law, Brandon Sanderson
Sanderson takes the fantasy world of Mistborn and moves it in to a more modern age, with gunslingers and telekinetics. An unlikely combination that, with Sanderon’s immense skill, captivates the reader. - Bosch, Amazon Prime
In the large universe of gritty police dramas, Bosch shines. The show has the right touches of characterization, action, and suspense. - The Constable Evans mystery series by Rhys Bowen.
The magnificence of Wales is the captivating backdrop for this young constable’s efforts in solving crime. Deeper than those mysteries involving cats or ghosts as sleuths, but not as deep as Doyle’s Holmes, these books entertain me at the right level.
