Cash

Back to Work: Quick Cash

Sometimes you need the cash faster than you can find a job or build your business.

I hear you! I’m diving into all this myself. After researching freelancing online as well as on writing books for quite some time, I now have my own platforms for both freelance and novel writing and software development, but I need cash sooner than my personal brands will generate.

In my next post in this series, we’ll cover full-time work, but for now here’s a few ideas for some extra cash:

01

Sell Stuff

Sell your excess — or others’ excess

Locally: garage sale or Craigslist

Online: Amazon, Etsy, eBay, and more

02

Virtual Assistance

Provide support services to other businesses from a remote location

Data entry, taking phone calls, email management, social media, assisting a real estate agent

03

Post a service

Post a service you think people may buy

“300 words edited for $10” “I will knit your dog a coat for $40”
“I will write your name in the sand and send you a photo for $10”

(Fiverr.com)

04

Bid on a Project

Submit a bid proposal for a job on a freelance board

Includes data entry, writing, programming, and much more — even singing

(Upwork.com, Freelancer.com, or TopTal.com)

05

Writing

Sell your articles and blog posts online

Non-fiction articles, short fiction, copywriting

Editing and proofing services

06

Make and Sell

Make arts or crafts

Knitted scarves, stock photography, oil portraits, guitar straps, restored furniture, and more

Many more options abound, from breeding animals (dogs, snakes, birds), to maker projects. Just be aware of your interests and emerging trends as much as you can. What do your children like? What would you like to buy online?
